Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. DESCRIPTION:Join us by Zoom to share poems you love\, poems that you are currently reading\, or poems you have written! Poems can be from any publication or book\, as well as from online resources. We want to celebrate the art of poetry and share the diverse voices our customers find meaningful to them. \nMaterial containing explicit language or possibly triggering/trauma-related subject matters should be presented with a courtesy warning\, whenever possible. \nEach participant will be given 3-5 minutes to share a poem\, with about 5 minutes to discuss. There is no guarantee we will have time for every participant to share a poem. \nAs a reminder\, there is only time to read poems\, not workshop them. DESCRIPTION:Queer joy shall abound at the Queer Readers’ Book Café!  \nThis time around we’ll ring in the holidays with a selection of queer holiday romance and other LGBTQ+ cozy vibes like found family books and recommendations! \nThe Queer Readers’ Cafe is sort of like a silent book club\, but chatter is OK. Unlike a typical book club\, participants can read whatever they want!  \nWe’ll create an LGBTQ+ friendly space in our community room for folks to gather\, read\, and discuss what they’re reading. A selection of queer reading materials will be available to browse and checkout.
