You can volunteer away your library fines at a rate of $20 per hour while helping the library maintain a clean and welcoming environment.  \nVolunteers will be responsible for: \n\nBook cover cleaning – Use disinfecting wipes to reinvigorate dingy books.\nBookshelves – Dust shelves and organize library materials.\nDeep cleaning computers – Use disinfecting wipes to disinfect computer mice and mouse pads and compressed air to remove any dust particles or debris.\nMaterial inspection – Check books for torn pages\, pen marks\, etc.\n\nThis is a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering away their library fines. \nDetails and Requirements: \n\nMust be able to commit to the full session\nAnyone under the age of 15 must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian\nNo experience or special skills necessary\nTraining and supplies will be provide\nMust arrive no later than 10 minutes late.    \n\nPlease register online or ask for assistance by calling/visiting our Information Desk. DESCRIPTION:Reading Buddies provides students in grades K–5 with the opportunity to strengthen their reading skills by working one-on-one with a friendly reading coach. This program creates a positive and supportive reading experience for beginning and developing readers\, helping children build confidence and fluency. \nOur reading coach listens as children read\, offering encouragement and support in phonics\, sight words\, and comprehension. Students may bring a favorite book from home or select one from the library’s collection to read aloud. \nReading sessions are available on a first-come\, first-served basis. SUMMARY:Mindfulness Meditation (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness meditation is a wonderful way to develop clarity\, discipline\, and perspective as well as improve your mental and physical health. Join online sessions with Phuong Pham\, a Buddhist nun experienced in the practice of meditation. Each session is 45 minutes of meditating together followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A led by Phuong. The group sharing and Q&A is a valuable part of the process\, so participants can reflect on the meditation session together and build community. It is open to all levels of experience. \nRegistration is required to receive the Zoom link. Please make sure your email address is entered correctly. To minimize interruptions\, participants must arrive no later than 7:15 pm to be admitted. Participants must register separately for each week they would like to join. \nYou can learn more about Phuong here and can watch her meditation videos here.
