DESCRIPTION:We are offering this Zoom presentation to help families of high school juniors\, sophomores and freshmen better understand the college admissions process and how to successfully navigate the changing landscape. \nWe will discuss current college admissions trends\, admissions strategies\, the changing test-optional environment\, the importance of researching and visiting colleges to find schools that can be a good fit\, a timeline and other action steps to make this fall productive and help reduce the stress around the college admissions process. \nWe’ll examine the holistic admissions review process\, what admissions officers consider important when they review applicants and how students can position themselves to develop a compelling narrative to increase their chances for admission. \nWe will also discuss the importance of community service\, how it can provide an opportunity for meaningful experiences\, personal growth and a way to showcase a student’s character. DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness meditation is a wonderful way to develop clarity\, discipline\, and perspective as well as improve your mental and physical health. Join online sessions with Phuong Pham\, a Buddhist nun experienced in the practice of meditation. Each session is 45 minutes of meditating together followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A led by Phuong. The group sharing and Q&A is a valuable part of the process\, so participants can reflect on the meditation session together and build community. It is open to all levels of experience. \nRegistration is required to receive the Zoom link. Please make sure your email address is entered correctly. DESCRIPTION:Come and improve your mental and physical health in mindfulness meditation sessions led by Phuong Pham. Each session is 45 minutes of sitting and/or walking meditation followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A. It is open to all levels of experience and no registration is required. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and/or meditation cushions. Chairs are available for those who do not bring them. \nPhuong is a Buddhist nun experienced in leading mindfulness meditation.
