DESCRIPTION:Join CASP artist Sang-ah Choi for “5\,4\,3\,2\,1 – Drawing with Time” \nIn this one-hour workshop\, participants will practice figure drawing with pencils in timed cycles of 5\, 4\, 3\, 2\, and 1 minutes. The session begins with a short demonstration on pencil line\, focusing on variations in pressure and speed. Participants then take turns modeling\, observing one another\, and drawing together in rhythm with the time sequence. \nThe workshop starts slowly to allow everyone to settle in\, then gradually becomes faster and freer\, encouraging lively movement of lines. Through three full cycles\, participants will create 15–20 drawings. The focus is not on accuracy\, but on drawing freely and spending time together. This workshop is open to adults of all levels; no prior drawing experience is required.

DESCRIPTION:This series\, now in its second year\, brings contemporary films\, including documentaries and narrative movies\, each emphasizing the diversity and expressiveness of Brazilian cinema. Movies are in Portuguese with English subtitles.  \nRodrigo Torres\, a Brazilian film curator based in the SF Bay Area\, introduces each film to provide context and to enhance the audience’s understanding. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in cinema and an MFA in Visual Arts and began his career in the camera department on movie sets. Rodrigo worked as a curator and film programmer for the State Department of Culture at the renowned Cine Brasília movie theater. In partnership with the State Department of Education\, Rodrigo organized special screenings for students of all ages and served as the General Media Coordinator\, contributing public policies for financing film productions and exhibitions. In California\, he has worked as an assistant manager at the Aquarius Theatre and as a juror for the United Nations Association Film Festival. \nDates are Saturdays\, November 8\, January 24 and April 25.

DESCRIPTION:Come and improve your mental and physical health in mindfulness meditation sessions led by Phuong Pham. Each session is 45 minutes of sitting and/or walking meditation followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A. It is open to all levels of experience and no registration is required. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and/or meditation cushions. Chairs are available for those who do not bring them. \nPhuong is a Buddhist nun experienced in leading mindfulness meditation. DESCRIPTION:Join Sandy and Kent for a family-friendly line dancing class! Exercise your brain and body and enhance your balance while dancing to a variety of international music. No partner needed and beginners welcome! You are welcome to practice before and after by checking out their special playlist for this class.  \nThis class will take place in the Mitchell Park Bowl. (In the event of rain\, the class will move to the Midtown Room inside the Mitchell Park Library.) \nSandy and Kent have taught line dancing throughout the Bay Area for ten years. Learn more about them on their YouTube channel. \nRegistration is not required. If you register\, you will get an email reminder for the program including a link to the class playlist to practice.

Este programa familiar se ofrece en español y está abierto a todas las personas interesadas en aprender nuevos idiomas.  \nPor favor traiga sus propias bufandas y maracas. La biblioteca no proporciona útiles compartidos en este momento. Esta hora de cuentos es un programa en el interior/exterior de la biblioteca. El uso del espacio exterior depende del clima.  \n¡Asegúrate de seguirnos en YouTube para ver más historias\, canciones y rimas\, incluyendo una lista de reproducción de todas nuestras canciones favoritas para cantar \n——————————– \nJoin Señorita Juliana for Family Storytime en Español at College Terrace Library.  \nStorytime includes a variety of early literacy activities such as stories\, songs\, rhymes\, and movements. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This family-friendly program is hosted in Spanish and open to all including native speakers and those interested in learning new languages.  \nPlease bring your own scarves and shakers.
