SUMMARY:Documentary: UNAFF in Libraries
DESCRIPTION:UNAFF In Libraries Special Screening presents CITIZEN KOCH\, an 87-minute documentary from the USA. Recent politics have been triumphant for some and terrifying for others\, but everybody seems to agree on one thing: something is fundamentally wrong with the system. Many believe the template for that “something” is the effort to purchase the democratic process that began with “Americans for Prosperity” and the controversial “Citizens United” decision of the Supreme Court. This clear and remarkably assembled documentary takes the circus-like whirlwind of events and characters and puts them into a comprehensive and lucid time frame. After the screening conversation moderated by Jasmina Bojic\, Stanford educator and founder of the international documentary film festival UNAFF. For more details please check https://www.unaff.org/2025/special.html \nUtilizing already-defined public spaces dedicated to diverse interests\, our collaboration with libraries through the UNAFF in Libraries program brings together documentary films and the love of literature. As one of the oldest solely documentary film festivals in the US\, UNAFF has grown and earned the respect of audiences and filmmakers alike for its fearless independence and integrity. It was founded in 1998 by Stanford educator and film critic Jasmina Bojic in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  \nFuture series dates are:Thursday\, December 18\, 6-8 p.m.
