DESCRIPTION:Repair Café Silicon Valley will be at the Gilroy Library offering free repairs and repair advice on a first come\, first served basis. This community service organization is dedicated to encouraging the repair and reuse of goods. Repair Cafe will bring tools\, materials\, and volunteer experts to help you make any repairs you need on clothes\, furniture\, small appliances\, bicycles\, crockery\, electronics\, lamps\, toys\, and more. Their goal is to extend the life of everyday items. \n(To cut down on unnecessary waiting times during busy periods\, one broken item per person will be examined. After that\, you can join the back of the line if you have a second item for repair.) \nIn 2009\, Martine Postma began the Repair Café. This volunteer- run service encourages the repair and reuse of goods to avoid dumping them in landfills. Since the first event\, it has grown into a movement with more than 2\,000 Repair Cafés in over 30 countries.

DESCRIPTION:Come and improve your mental and physical health in mindfulness meditation sessions led by Phuong Pham. Each session is 45 minutes of sitting and/or walking meditation followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A. It is open to all levels of experience and no registration is required. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and/or meditation cushions. Chairs are available for those who do not bring them. \nPhuong is a Buddhist nun experienced in leading mindfulness meditation. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a weekly Tai Chi session with Nelson Ng! In this weekly class\, participants will learn the basic principles and the philosophy behind Tai Chi\, gaining flexibility and a better sense of balance\, through slow and gentle movement.  \nNelson started learning Chen’s Tai Chi in 1989 from Master Gene Chen\, who was a disciple of Grandmaster of Feng ZhiQiang. Nelson has been teaching since 2014. \nThis class is free and open to beginners as well as those who have previous Tai Chi experience. People of all ages are welcome. You must sign in upon arrival.

DESCRIPTION:Our quarterly 4-Day Sales feature a large number of books and media from all genres. The sales begin with a preview evening exclusively for Friends members and end with a Bargain Day. \nPrices at 4-Day Sales are as follows: \n\nBooks: $1.50 per inch\nCDs: (music and software) 4 for $1.00\nAudio books\, DVDs\, VCDs and BluRay discs: $2 each\nSoftware and games: $1 each or as marked\nBox sets of DVDs\, CDs\, or VCDs: individually priced based on the number of discs in the set\nSpecialty items: Individually priced\nBargain Day Sales: $5 per paper grocery bag full of books and media.\n\nWe accept the following forms of payment: \n\nCash & Checks\nAll major Credit Cards\nApple Pay & Google Pay\nContactless payment available\n\n\nThursday\, December 4 is member’s-only night. Doors open from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. For Thursday night access to the sale\, enter at the rear (east side) of the library. You must have a valid membership card for entry\, or purchase a membership at the door. Individual memberships allow 1 person to enter; family memberships allow the entire family to enjoy the book sale. Doors open from 10:00am until 5:00pm.\nSaturday\, December 6 is open to the public. Doors open from 10:00am until 5:00pm.\nSunday\, December 7 is open to the public and is bargain day.
