DESCRIPTION:Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-3 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. \nOur reading coach will listen to children read and provide support in phonics\, sight words\, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the Village Square Branch Library to read aloud to their reading coach. \nWalk-ins are welcome! However\, reading sessions are available on a first come\, first served basis and the duration of reading sessions may be limited depending on the number of participating students. Kindergarten through 8th grade students can come to Edenvale Branch Library’s Homework Club to get coached by trained library volunteers. Students can get free help with their homework in subjects such as reading\, writing\, math\, and social studies!​ \nHomework Club at Edenvale Branch Library is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM\, except for the following dates because of City holidays and school breaks: \n\nOctober 7th and 9th\n\nHomework Club will take a break for the winter right after the Thanksgiving Break and resume in January 2026. The schedule for the Spring semester will be determined and posted closer to the start of December. \nFree. No registration is required; however\, Homework Club has a limited capacity. Services will be provided on a first-come\, first-served basis.
