This volunteer-led program will guide children through creating their very own hand-sewn project. Get creative and hone fine motor skills with a needle and thread.  \nFor this session\, we will sew bats for Halloween\, and if time allows\, participants may also make a pumpkin. We will learn different stitching types\, practice technique\, decorate\, and complete our own sewing project to take home. All materials provided. \nRegistration is required to secure your spot\, but walk-ins welcome provided there are enough materials. DESCRIPTION:Join Kenneth Tan\, author of Crescenciana: A Memoir in Words and Illustrations\, for an engaging class on drawing banigs—traditional Filipino woven mats. In this beginner-friendly workshop\, you’ll explore a variety of line patterns inspired by Filipino weaving and tattoo designs. You’ll then apply these patterns to create your own distinctive banig illustration. This creative process is not only accessible to all skill levels but also offers a calming\, meditative\, and enjoyable experience. \nThis program is offered on a first-come\, first-served basis until all seats are filled. No prior drawing experience is required. DESCRIPTION:STEMMABLE is a girl-led youth nonprofit in the San Francisco Bay Area that loves getting kids excited about Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math (STEM). A dedicated group of teen volunteers from eight local high schools presents free\, hands-on workshops where kids can explore\, build\, and have fun while learning something new. \nWe’d love for your family to attend these upcoming workshops!
