DESCRIPTION:In these interactive sessions\, participants will build an appreciation for native bird species. In the proceeding weeks\, this program will cover the following. \nSession 1: Introduction to the structure of birds with the creation of paper models and drawings of birds. DESCRIPTION:Participating in the Reading to Children program is a great way for children to develop their imagination and spark a love for books\, reading and learning.  \nChildren will enjoy one-on-one or small group interaction with our volunteer. They are also welcome to practice reading to our volunteer. Pre-registration is not required\, and children may drop in to hear a story any time during the program.  \nThis program is best suited for preschoolers and children in grades K-3 and will be held in the Children’s area. \nFree. DESCRIPTION:This program was brought to you by the San Jose Legacy Youth Foundation. \nPart of the STEM Sundays Programming at Alviso Branch Library.The Julia Robinson Math Festival is an event that provides students with fun and meaningful math experiences to develop their mathematical confidence\, joy\, and problem solving skills. At the festival\, there will be a variety of play-based\, manipulative-based math puzzles and games for students in grades K – 8 and their parents/caregiver. Each activity will be led by at least one trained volunteer who will introduce the activity and keep students engaged and excited as they explore. The festival will be open for 1.5 hours\, during which time kids will get to explore the festival at their own pace\, choosing where they want to go and for how long they want to do each activity. \n \nRecommended for ages 5 – 10+.Free.
