DESCRIPTION:This event has been canceled. We apologize for the short notice. At this time\, we do not know when we will be able to reschedule this program.\nStart Smart is a program from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) aimed at helping newly licensed (or soon to be licensed) teen drivers (ages 15 to 19) become more aware of the responsibilities that accompany the privilege of being a licensed California driver. \nTeens and their parents/guardians are invited to attend and participate in a free 2 hour long Start Smart class\, hosted by local CHP officers. Learn collision avoidance techniques and how to identify collision-causing elements such as excessive speed\, driving under the influence\, and distracted driving. \nUpon completion of this course\, participants will be awarded a certificate. If you present this certificate to your auto insurance company\, they may offer you a discounted rate! \nNo registration needed. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend this class alongside their teens! \nFunding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety\, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Want to gain confidence with your public speaking and conversation skills? Silicon Valley Speaking Club meetings are an excellent opportunity for practice!  \nA free program.
