DESCRIPTION:Come and improve your mental and physical health in mindfulness meditation sessions led by Phuong Pham. Each session is 45 minutes of sitting and/or walking meditation followed by 15 minutes of group sharing and Q&A. It is open to all levels of experience and no registration is required. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and/or meditation cushions. Chairs are available for those who do not bring them. \nPhuong is a Buddhist nun experienced in leading mindfulness meditation. DESCRIPTION:Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-3 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a volunteer. Reading Buddies creates a positive reading experience for beginning and developing readers and helps children build confidence as readers. Our volunteers will listen to children read and provide support in phonics\, sight words\, and comprehension. Students can bring their favorite book or choose from the available selection at the West Valley Branch Library. \nFree. DESCRIPTION:Anil Sawe’s exhibit consists of oil paintings on canvas depicting colorful sunsets and the power of the ocean. \nHis exhibit runs from Nov 1 to Dec 30\, 2025 and is open to the public during the Library’s open hours. \nAbout the Artist \nAnil was born in Bombay\, India\, and was an engineer by profession. However\, he always found a strong attachment to all visual arts. Now retired\, Anil lives in Aptos and loves to capture the ocean’s energy and vivid colors of the west coast sunsets in his paintings.
