¡Viva! at the Library Featuring Singer/Songwriter Diana Gameros
This intimate and up-close performance features original songs and melodies that celebrate the cultural richness and vibrancy of Mexico and Latin American countries.
The event showcases the work of Diana Gameros, a singer, songwriter, and composer born and raised in Juárez, México, who immigrated to the United States as a teenager. Over the past decade in the Bay Area, she has released two albums of original music in both Spanish and English, and has been recognized by NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series. Her life and work were also profiled in a documentary released by KQED in 2020. Diana’s music—centered on themes of family, migration, and home—has led her to perform alongside notable artists such as Joan Baez, Natalia Lafourcade, and the San Francisco Symphony. In 2023, she received a Music Award Grant from the Gerbode Foundation to record a new album at Women’s Audio Mission studio in San Francisco, scheduled for release in 2025.
This program is part of the Santa Clara County Library District’s Hispanic Heritage Month.
