Introduction to Filipino Martial Arts
Celebrate Filipino American History Month with a hands-on introduction to traditional Filipino martial arts! Led by a certified master instructor, this engaging class invites children and their families to learn self-defense techniques while exploring a powerful part of Filipino heritage.
Filipino martial arts—known as arnis, eskrima, or kali—originated centuries ago and were developed for practical defense using sticks, blades, and empty-hand techniques. These fighting styles have been passed down through generations and are recognized as the national martial art and sport of the Philippines.
Participants will build coordination, confidence, and cultural awareness through movement and guided instruction. No prior experience necessary—just come ready to move and learn.
