Xiang zhe yang de xiao shi ( Small Things Like These) by Claire Keegan. (2021). 

Timber merchant Bill Furlong, the son of a young woman who gave birth to him out of wedlock in 1940’s Ireland, makes a disturbing discovery one December morning when he delivers coal and firewood to the convent in his poverty-stricken Irish town. A young woman has been locked in the freezing coal shed—deliberately as a punishment, by the nuns. As the son of one young woman spared becoming a virtual prisoner of a similar Magdalen Laundry by the kindness of her employer at the time, and as a father of five daughters, Bill exposes the abuse he has witnessed. Even though it means he must defy the all-powerful catholic church and the complicit silence of the rest of the townspeople, including his own wife.
