Teen Boot Camp: Introduction to Python for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
SJSU University Library and San José Public Library are hosting a hands-on Python for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Boot Camp with Anish Roy and Dr. Navrati Saxena, designed for middle and high school students, with a special focus on supporting underrepresented groups in tech.
Over two weekends, students will progress from the basics of Python programming to data structures, core AI/ML concepts, and a mini project to apply their skills. The program concludes with a showcase where participants present their team projects and compete for awards in innovation, teamwork, and presentation skills.
Boot Camp Schedule:
Friday, November 14, 4–6 p.m.

Saturday, November 22, 2–6 p.m.
Showcase Schedule:
Sunday, November 23, 1–3 p.m. (Showcase Preparation)
Sunday, November 23, 3–5 p.m. (Showcase)
Important Information:
- Please bring your own laptop or Chromebook and charger. Request to borrow a device if needed.
- Students will need a Google (Gmail) account to access Google Colab and Google Classroom. No additional websites or software are needed.
- All participants will receive certificates of completion, and top teams will be recognized with special awards.
- Snacks will be provided.
- No prior experience required.
