Teen Poetry Workshop – Revising Your Work
Join fellow teen poets and Cupertino Poet Laureate Keiko O’Leary in this fun and interactive recurring workshop for high school students. Make friends and improve your poetry skills!
Topic for October 12: Revising Your Work
What should you change?
What should you keep?
How do you know when you’re done?
Learn a revision method that will help you revise your work with confidence.
Please Bring
If you have one, bring a draft of a poem that you’re not very attached to. If you don’t have one, no worries. We’ll generate some material during the workshop.
Future topics will be based on participant interest, but may include:
– getting ideas
– finishing projects
– exploring technical skills such as rhyme, meter, etc.
– being true to yourself as a poet
About your workshop leader:
Keiko O’Leary has been writing poems since the sixth grade and has seen the value of poetry to enhance life for over 30 years. She has published many poems and is the author of Your Writing Matters: 34 Quick Essays to Get Unstuck and Stay Inspired. Keiko is dedicated to passing on the legacy of poetry to the next generation of poets.
